
Hi! I'm Carolyn
I’m an NASM-certified personal trainer with 13 years of experience, a background in health research, and bachelor's degrees in Nutrition and Psychology. Over the years I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, including professionals, new moms, students, seniors, beginners, athletes, and individuals with disabilities. At this point in my career I value strength, mobility, and balance over chiseled abs, and functional fitness over flashy gym lifts. I firmly believe that everyone can achieve an incredible level of fitness, regardless of their starting point, and I’m passionate about helping you get there.
Carolyn Trains is about getting back to the basics of fitness: feeling strong, moving with ease, and feeling absolutely fantastic. And who knows, you may even develop those chiseled abs along the way.

Training style
Each program is different depending on the client/group, but can include elements of weight training, metabolic training, Pilates, HIIT, LIIT, plyometrics, flexibility, mobility, prehab, and balance training, as appropriate. The beauty of this approach is that, in addition to getting you to your goal, it also results in improvements in ALL aspects of fitness, body composition, and overall wellness.

Nutrition approach
I strongly believe that healthy eating should improve your life, not become your life. I'm not a fan of fad diets or weird cleanses. I lean heavily toward an evidence-based approach, but also recognize that the evidence doesn't always capture everyone's experience. So, let's talk about it. Let's figure out what nutrition patterns and habits will work for you and your goal and figure out how to get you there.

Other tidbits
I have a grumpy old dachshund, a tornado toddler, and a very sweet husband. All for sale. Best price.
My favorite meal is Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixins, and homemade chocolate chip cookies.
